How to get employment pass Singapore

To obtain an Employment Pass (EP) in Singapore, you will need to meet the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Here are the general requirements for obtaining an EP:

  1. Qualifications: You must possess acceptable qualifications such as a good university degree, professional qualifications or specialist skills.

  2. Salary: You must be offered a salary of at least SGD 4,500 per month (from 1 September 2020 onwards) in order to qualify for an EP. However, higher salaries may be required for more experienced or higher-skilled individuals.

  3. Job Type: You should be offered a managerial, executive or specialized job role in Singapore.

  4. Company Profile: The company that is hiring you must be registered and incorporated in Singapore.

  5. Work Experience: You should have relevant work experience in a related field.

Once you have secured a job offer, your employer will need to submit an application for your Employment Pass to the MOM. The application can be made online through the EP Online system.

When submitting the application, your employer will need to provide the following documents:

  • A copy of your passport and educational certificates
  • Your resume and relevant employment testimonials
  • Details of your job offer and salary
  • Company’s business profile and recent financial statements

The processing time for an EP application is typically around 3 weeks. However, it can take longer if further information is required.

Once your EP application is approved, you will be issued an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. You will need to obtain a valid work visa before you can commence work in Singapore. You can do this by applying for an EP or S Pass at a Singaporean embassy or consulate in your home country.

Note that the eligibility requirements and application process for EPs can be subject to change. It is advisable to check the MOM website for the most up-to-date information before applying.
